Tomorrow night the feast are honoured to play "the villa" in bournemouth for the last time, and here is a quote from the promoter -

"Its a good line up so hoping for a kicking night as this is the last live show at the Villa - We have been pressured by the council for weeks to install limiters and that just ain't rock n roll. A recent ultimatum from them was the last straw"

Bournemouth which recently lost "The Gander" (a live music venue just up the road from the villa) has now lost another much cared for rock locale, leaving Mr. Smiths as the only workable live venue in bournemouth.

The Villa has had periods of no live music before, back in the 90's it was called "The Hot House" and played host to some fucking awesome shows, bands like - PJ Harvey (pre Dry), Swervedriver, Blur (awesome because only 6 people were there, and all of us sat at the bar round the corner not watching them because they were so shit!), Fuck there were loads of bands who played there I cant remember them all, local bands used to get supports which was always pretty fucking cool, the original sludgefeast (school edition) even managed to get a support with Sham 69 (whose keyboardist sound checked with "Bad" by micheal jackson, whithout a hint of irony...)

eventually it was shut down and recrowned the "Gardening Club" at this point it somehow got ignored by touring bands, and really lost a lot of its previous momentum, after an uneventful few years (god knows how many) it was once again renamed "The Villa". Through the hard work of promoter Wayne Todd, the villa as a live music venue has slowly started to come back to life, with occaisional appearances from known non-local bands, just as it was begining to gain steam, the council go fuck it up. (well they could have bands with limiters, but as wayne rightly says, limiters are for pussies), The promoter has always been full of enthusiasm for local music despite the lack of support from the general public, and will no doubt continue promoting bands in someway or another if at all possible.

sludgefeast live @ the villa (Andy Nazers Last show as a full time feast member)

The villa isnt shutting down, you can still go and dance to Wayne and others spinning their tunes, (well do MP3's spin??) you just probably wont see the feast again on the stage, well, you never know I guess....

So go to the show you fucks.

The only thing I could find from back then was a flyer/ticket mentioning a show by a band with an even worse ame than sludgefeast.

before becoming sludgefeast we went through a whole host of other shit band names, this was one, shit I dont think I was even old enough to drink...but drunk I got
