It's Thom Wykes, popstar David Jordan, James II (in make up),
and Mr UK (before make up):

01 James II's # 1 1:14
James
sent me an email the other day - "You're never going
to believe this but me and thom have been asked to star in
david jordan's new pop video as part of his backing band.
he's just been on the Royal Variety Performance and This Morning"
Well
unfortunately I did believe him.
The
photo on the left is from the amazing video shoot, which it
seems made as much sense as Mr Jordans music does to me and
my grandpa. For some reason they decided Thom (a guitarist)
shouldn't be in it, but James II (the drummer in sludgefeast
- and Thom's band) should be in it....but pretending to play
guitar instead - cool.
James
tells me he made his hands bleed whilst miming without a plectrum,
well James the song will no doubt make my ears bleed. I felt
that James had been presented
I
felt ashamed that James was being presented to the world as
a charlatan, A one fingered pretend chord playing "model"
following in the footsteps of Robert Palmer's addicted to
love video.
So
I made him write and record a song, unlike the David Jordan
song, James II can actually play today's song on guitar, because
he did on this super-awesome recording. It turns out he can
also sing, play bass, and even knock out a beat on the drums.
James II is clearly "one to watch" in 2008....although
you'll probably be mainly watching him pretend to play guitar
on MTV as part of a David Jordan video.
James
suggested the song was perhaps a cover of the Kyuss track
"Yeah", or that perhaps phill collins could be included
in the title, but in the end "James II's # 1" seemed
to mark the occasion with enough gravitas..
