"Gitaroo Man" on the PS2
Here
we go a super short review -
Imagine being able to play guitar (as we often do). Imagine being
able to play rich metal harmonies on a guitar that looks like a
space ship. Imagine being able to use your huge rock skills to save
the world
well that's what gitaroo man does, to make just such
a fantasy reality.
Well
mother fucker if the thing isn't nearly as hard as actually playing
a real guitar, (and the reason I haven't finished it is because,
well I guess my time should be spent playing on my 6 string rather
than my 15 button) As with most bemani games the tempo is a little
floaty, but it's still perfectly acceptable. As you play nothing
can beat the frustration of missing a note and not actually getting
to hear how the supreme J-rock continues. This game comes from beyond
the limits of excellence. It is so great infact that the the feast
have a track named after this very title. How could this game be
any better? Only if you could plug a real guitar in to your PS2
and tear along with it
I dream of real life being like this
game....(I can picture it like some drug inspired musical, I just
just happen to head out to the shops and shoot down an alien space
ship on the way with my guitar, as though it's nothing out of the
ordinary, fuckin' right on)
how
to play gitaroo man.
1
- try to stay sober, I know its impossible when playing video games,
but its quite a tricky little fucker, oh fuck it, get drunk then,
maybe this is why I still haven't finished it....
2.
use you left stick to rotate the central dial thing, the point of
the dial should always point along the moving line....

3-
hold the corresponding button whilst (and only whilst) the line
intersects with the dial.
4-
occasionally hit the face buttons in time with the music.
5-
always fail when you get to the shark level.
6-
get fucked off with it, and turn it off, not forgetting to blame
the console for your failure and not the huge amounts of alcohol
you consumed while you were still enjoying it.
