international victory goal, on the sega saturn..

what can be said about victory goal that hasn't been said before? quite a lot actually seeing as not many people have ever bothered writing about it. so I am one one of those weird heterosexual males that thinks soccer/football sucks ass, I neither want to watch it, play it or even hear people talking about it...it's plain and simple, dull as fuck. so what the hell got me playing this game then?

well we remember football games on the c64 or megadrive, sort of side view piece of crap things, then we had sensible soccer which was great but more of a simulator, then 3D came along and changed all that. before all your crappy fifa's and all that shit there was this game, what it did was take that really dumb C64 crap side view soccer and make it 3D, so lets go over the controls, pass shoot, tackle, that's about it (it pretends to do other stuff but there is no need to bother with any of it.

it's the first football game I ever played in co-op, so me and a friend played through some monster seasons and world cups, whilst drinking beer (and some cider as that was cheaper and I didn't hate it back in the olden days) it's not hard, infact its pretty damned easy, but its really fucking pure, I hate all that shit in football games now, I like it stupid and arcadey and that's all there is to this, plus you get the most awesome japanese rock guitar soundtrack, which you can't turn off (and so you shouldn't) me and my buddy probably played this game for 80+ hours and never once got tired of the great rock soundtrack.

Oh yeah while its 3D, the actual players are little 2D sprites, but I never noticed that back then...

if like me you dislike football and feel like a lonely island in a turbulent sea of discontent, you could print out this picture and use it as a car sticker, or maybe adhere it to a t-shirt. and display it to support others like you...infact if taking the t-shirt option maybe on the back you could add "and if you disagree with me then you are a cunt" and wear it to areas where football matches are taking place, this will show off that you are a "cool" individual and are leading an alternative lifestyle.
